Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry/PCU/Stepdown position in Rock Island, IL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with cardiac drips and specialized procedures.

Details

• Level 1 trauma center hospital setting in Rock Island, IL
• Med/Surg Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Stepdown patient population
• Cardiac and open heart patient experience preferred
• Specialized procedures include chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management including amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban with some titration
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (if not active, proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license must be provided)
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Chest tube, femstop, trach, CBI, drain, and central line experience required
• Experience managing cardiac drips with titration required
• Cardiac and open heart experience preferred
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• One supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment or contract required for consideration
• Must have a taxable home address more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Cannot have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the last 12 months

Additional Information

• Contributes professional and clinical knowledge in the provision and management of care to patients as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving holiday week and 1 day during the Christmas/New Year's holiday period
