Terminal Operations Supervisor

The Terminal Operations Supervisor will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the plant site. Key duties will include oversight of terminal loading and unloading operations, loading/unloading of products and supervising terminal employees.

Responsibilities of Terminal Supervisor Position include:

• Supervise a team of 1-4 employees in the loading and unloading of barges, tank cars and tank trucks with a variety of chemicals.
• Model and ensure adherence to operating procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork associated with the unloading/loading operations.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Load and unload barges, tank cars and tank trucks.
• Be a key contributor to safety and quality meetings.
• Identify maintenance work and work with maintenance department to facilitate repairs as necessary.
• Perform incidental maintenance work on equipment as needed.
• Responsible for training employees on job duty
• Write incident reports and procedures consistent with company expectations.
• Other misc. duties as necessary.

This hourly position is generally a Monday-Friday position that may require shift work and will require occasional weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Supervisor experience within the chemical industry
• Completed High School degree at a minimum.
• 3+ Years of chemical manufacturing and/or distribution experience
• Must be able to read/write/speak English
• Must be proficient in basic mathematics

Other Preferred Knowledge/Experience

• Experience supervising others is a significant plus
• Experience with Safety and/or Quality programs
• Experience handling chlor-alkali, flammable/combustible, or petroleum products
• Experience with computers programs including Microsoft Office products
• Experience with OTR trucks

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Requires lifting and handling of heavy objects; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, crouch, reach, and have visual acuity
• Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations
• Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
• Able to run & help maintain process equipment
• Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required
