Code Review Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Code Review Engineer to act as a critical quality and security gatekeeper throughout our software development lifecycle. In this role, you will systematically review pull requests and code contributions across diverse repositories and technology stacks, ensuring logical correctness, adherence to design patterns and functional requirements, while identifying and preventing defects such as logic errors, race conditions, memory leaks, improper error handling, and edge-case issues. You will rigorously assess code for security vulnerabilities-including injection flaws (SQL, XSS, command injection), insecure authentication/authorization, input validation weaknesses, sensitive data exposure, and insecure deserialization-while verifying that dependencies are free of known CVEs, properly maintained, and licensed. Collaborating closely with developers, architects, and the security team, you will deliver clear, constructive, and educational feedback to elevate team skills, participate in early design and architecture reviews, refine review checklists, secure-coding guidelines, and definition-of-done criteria, and help integrate SAST/DAST tooling into the pipeline. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance code review workflows, automation rules, and CI/CD quality gates, track key metrics like defect density, review turnaround time, and recurring issue patterns, and evaluate/recommend static analysis, linting, and automated testing tools to complement manual reviews-ultimately ensuring every line of deployed code meets the highest standards for quality, maintainability, performance, and security. This position offers flexibility to work either US business hours or India standard hours to support global team collaboration.

Pay Rate: $24-$28/hr

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience with at least 2 years in a dedicated review, quality, or security-focused role.

· Strong proficiency in at least 3 or more of: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C/C++.

· Deep understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common software vulnerability patterns.

· Hands-on experience with Git, code review platforms (GitHub, GCP, AWS, Azure DevOps), and CI/CD pipelines.

· Solid knowledge of software design principles (SOLID, DRY, separation of concerns) and common architectural patterns.
