Power BI Developer - Microsoft Fabric & Direct Lake

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with a strong background in the retail industry and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Direct Lake, and modern data architecture.
This role will be responsible for developing scalable, high-performance BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across merchandising, supply chain, and store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models tailored to retail KPIs.
- Develop optimized DAX calculations, data models, and visuals to provide actionable insights for business users.
- Implement performance tuning and best practices for enterprise BI environments.
- Build and optimize Direct Lake datasets for high-volume retail datasets (sales, inventory, POS, promotions).
- Leverage Fabric features such as OneLake and Lakehouse modeling to modernize reporting architecture.
- Create reusable datasets and self-service BI capabilities for cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling for large-scale analytical solutions.
- Strong SQL experience and familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Direct Lake).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the retail industry
- Background in performance optimization for large Direct Lake datasets.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and CI/CD for Power BI/Fabric.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
