Full Stack Web Developer

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to create and refine wireframes and designs, developing both front-end and back-end components of our applications. You will bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience.

As a Full-Stack Web Developer , you will contribute to both front and back-end development. This role will primarily involve customized projects for Rock Island Auction Company . Our development team is integral to our business, and we are looking for a proactive programmer eager to make an impact. This position has the opportunity to be fully remote if candidate is located in Illinois.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new user-facing features while enhancing existing ones.
• Develop reusable code and libraries for efficient future use.
• Ensure UI/UX designs are technically feasible and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Validate user input before submitting data to the back-end.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to define and execute new functionalities.
• Maintain code quality and organization using version control best practices.
• Build and maintain company websites and web applications, focusing on both front-end and back-end development, including server-side web services and APIs.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary development team to meet project objectives.
• Lead projects to enhance user experience, ensure brand consistency, and improve application performance.
• Apply best practices in software development, including coding standards, security, and scalability considerations.
• Implement and maintain SEO best practices , ensuring optimal site structure, metadata, and page performance for search engine ranking. Examples include optimizing page load speed, using semantic HTML tags, structuring URLs effectively, and implementing schema markup.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• Front-End Development & UI/UX Design: Experience in wireframing, prototyping, and design processes.
• JavaScript/TypeScript: Proficiency in React, Express, Node.js, and REST APIs.
• HTML/CSS: Strong expertise in HTML/CSS, including JSX and Tailwind CSS.
• Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git, GitLab, and Git-Flow.
• Database Management: Solid understanding of MySQL and MS SQL Server.
• SEO Best Practices: Knowledge of on-page SEO, optimizing images and scripts for performance, using structured data (schema.org), and understanding search engine indexing techniques.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:

• Containerization: Familiarity with Docker, Docker Swarm, Podman, and Buildah.
• AWS Services: Experience with Lambda, S3, EC2, SES, SQS, and SNS.
• Testing Tools: Basic knowledge of Vitest.
• Debug & Monitoring: Familiarity with ELK Stack and Sentry.
• Search Indexing: Experience with Solr and Elasticsearch.
• Linux Server Administration & DevOps: Additional expertise in server management is a plus.
