- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (20 beds)
- Start Date: September 2, 2025
- End Date: December 2, 2025
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:00 – 06:30), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2050
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
- Parking: Free with permit
- Current and active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown or ICU nursing
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac interventions, and renal failure management
- IV therapy proficiency: accessing ports, arterial/central/PICC line management, starting IVs, blood product administration
- Medication administration: titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, emergency medications, continuous IV sedation
- Respiratory and thoracic care: ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac emergencies
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization and interventions
- Administer medications, titrate cardiac drips, and manage IV therapies
- Assist with ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
- Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Participate in code blue and rapid response situations
- Float to other nursing units as needed within scope of practice
