Job Title: Production Associate (Day Shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

Job Description

This role supports a manufacturing production line by packing, weighing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment or storage, while maintaining accurate material records and a clean, safe work area. The Production Associate also assists with tasks such as washing tubs of ink, using basic tools and packaging materials, and performing general labor duties across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Pack, weigh, and label completed items accurately for shipment or storage according to company guidelines.
• Wash tubs of ink and ensure all related equipment remains clean and ready for use.
• Follow all company packaging standards and procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Identify defective items, remove them from the production flow, and dispose of them appropriately.
• Use packaging materials properly, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, and related supplies.
• Operate basic production and packaging equipment safely as part of the production line.
• Assist with general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, picking, and moving materials as needed.
• Keep complete and accurate records of all materials that move through the warehouse or production area.
• Support blending or mixing activities when needed, following established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and timelines.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience performing general labor tasks in a production or warehouse environment.
• Ability to work on a production line and follow standard operating procedures.
• Experience with packing and packaging tasks in a manufacturing setting.
• Capability to identify and remove defective products from the production flow.
• Basic ability to operate or assist with machines and equipment used in general production.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and packaging materials safely and effectively.
• Comfort with physical tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate weighing, labeling, and recordkeeping.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Blending or mixing experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience with pallet jacks for moving materials is beneficial.
• Background in assembly, picking, or warehouse operations is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and rotate across different jobs on the production floor.
• Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment with a noticeable ink smell, though it is not considered overwhelming and does not require masks. You will work on the day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, supporting a production line and warehouse area that handles packaging, loading, unloading, and general labor tasks. The facility uses basic production equipment, hand tools, pallet jacks, and standard packaging materials such as glues, nails, and padding. The work involves standing, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift in a setting where cleanliness, organization, and safety are emphasized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Prospect, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
