Dairy Herd Manager / Herdsman position available on a 100 plus cow registered Holstein show herd in north eastern Illinois. Responsibilities include: milking, feeding, breeding and herd health for young stock, milking herd and transition cows (100 head total), assisting with seasonal field work and general farm maintenance. Newer equipment, all bagged forage and cows are fed TMR. Dairy is in planning stage for a new robotic free stall barn in immediate future. Herd management and A.I. experience is preferred. Prefer 2 years of experience working on a dairy. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively. MUST have the desire to work with and develop registered Holstein cattle. Clipping and fitting experience is beneficial. Looking for someone to run a clean professional operation and take pride in the appearance of the facilities and animals.
