CCA Academy, a private, non-denominational high school located in Chicago’s North Lawndale community, is seeking a compassionate and organized Assistant Principal to help lead our mission of transforming lives through education.
We serve non-traditional students ages 16-21, providing a rigorous academic environment, extracurricular activities, and wraparound supports that guide them toward graduation and a positive future. As a Youth Connection Charter School (YCCS) campus and member of the Alternative Schools Network (ASN), CCA Academy creates second chances for students.
The Assistant Principal will:
· Support the Principal in day-to-day operations and school improvement planning
· Lead initiative in student discipline, restorative practices, and attendance
· Support teacher development through coaching, evaluation, and professional learning
· Coordinate with counselors and support staff to meet students emotional needs
· Promote a safe, respectful, and achievement-focused school environment\
Key Responsibilities:
Vision & Continuous Improvement:
· Assist in executing the school’s mission and strategic goals
· Analyze school performance data to support continuous improvement
· Collaborate in change initiatives and build staff investment
Instructional Core:
· Partner with teachers to implement rigorous and responsive instruction
· Monitor and support the use of interventions and assessments to accelerate learning
· Help develop classroom practices that meet diverse learner needs
Climate & Culture:
· Lead efforts to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment
· Model and promote restorative practices and trauma-informed leadership
· Foster partnerships with families and staff to support a shared school culture
Talent:
· Provide coaching and support for teachers and support staff
· Help facilitate professional learning communities and ongoing training
· Encourage distributed leadership and recognize staff contributions
Qualifications:
· Illinois Professional Educator License with administrative endorsement
· Experience in instructional leadership, behavior intervention, or students’ services
· Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
· Dedication to supporting underserved youth with empathy and accountability
Beginning Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 annually. Position opens: June 1, 2026
