Facilities Manager – Elgin, IL
$70,000 – $75,000 Annually + Full Benefits, 401(k) Match, PTO

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader who takes ownership, drives operational excellence, and ensures safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance.

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance, including leading maintenance personnel, managing vendors, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, and supporting manufacturing operations through continuous improvement initiatives. This role combines leadership, project management, budgeting, vendor management, and hands-on technical expertise to maintain equipment, infrastructure, and overall facility performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day facility maintenance operations across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Perform and coordinate routine building repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues, ranging from general maintenance needs to complex electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and equipment repairs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance requests, emergencies, and facility-related concerns.
  • Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and vendors to ensure quality work, cost control, and timely project completion.
  • Manage maintenance projects from planning through execution while tracking budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities using a cloud-based maintenance management system.
  • Develop facility standards, maintenance schedules, operating procedures, and inspection checklists.
  • Ensure all facilities remain safe, compliant, and operating in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse operations, construction, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing maintenance operations in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Flexible availability to respond to occasional urgent facility needs.
