Director, SAP Finance Systems (Remote)

Do you want to drive the future of finance technology? Our client, who is a leading manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Finance Systems to lead the strategy, optimization, and evolution of enterprise finance technology platforms. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to Finance and Accounting leadership, helping align business objectives with scalable system solutions while supporting key initiatives, including SAP modernization and business transformation efforts.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong understanding of accounting and manufacturing finance with deep SAP expertise and experience leading enterprise-wide finance systems initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Partner closely with Finance and Accounting leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system optimization
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring financial systems effectively support operational and strategic goals
• Lead finance-related technology initiatives, including system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and ERP transformation projects
• Support manufacturing finance functions, including product costing, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial analysis
• Improve reporting and analytical capabilities that provide greater visibility into profitability and business performance
• Play a key role in SAP ECC and S/4HANA initiatives, including roadmap planning, implementation support, and ongoing optimization
• Collaborate across finance, operations, supply chain, and IT teams to ensure seamless process integration
• Establish governance, best practices, and standards that improve system reliability and user adoption
• Translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions

Required experience and background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Significant experience supporting finance systems within an SAP environment
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, particularly within manufacturing organizations
• Expertise in cost accounting, product costing, and financial reporting
• Experience supporting or leading SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA implementations
• Knowledge of modern SAP Finance capabilities, including General Ledger functionality and Universal Journal concepts
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with executive stakeholders and business leaders
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and driving organizational change

Preferred Background

• Career path that began in Accounting or Finance before moving into business systems, ERP, or technology leadership
• Experience supporting manufacturing organizations with complex costing models
• Exposure to enterprise data architecture, reporting platforms, and systems integration
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
