Laboratory lead

Stuart Hale Company is a manufacturer of food process aids, food grade lubricants, food and cosmetic ingredients in Chicago for over 70 years and as a result of our growth, we are looking to find an applicant as our Lead Laboratory Technician.

Lead Technician Responsibilities:

Lead creation of product documentation, (Certificate of Analysis templates, Specifications and SDS), for new product development and revisions to existing product documentation as needed.

Create and revise finished product labels to comply with current FDA and food safety system requirements.

Coordinate and manage third-party, customer, and FDA audits.

Conduct internal audits and manage CAPA programs to uphold quality standards.

Assist in investigating non-conformances to finished product specifications or customer concerns.

Evaluate new or alternative raw materials for approval.

Perform specialized batch testing, ( pH, viscosity, water activity, etc.) and maintain accurate, timely testing records.

roubleshoot on hold materials for nonconformance, manage on-hold log and create product re-work instruction as well as corrective actions if needed.

Maintain Kosher compliance registration of finished products and raw materials, (kosher finished product and raw material listings).

Maintain on-line annual product documentation records in compliance to customer requirements, (TraceGains, Repositrak, etc.).

Desired:

QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing environment.

HACCP certified.

PCQI certified.

Experience with SQF Quality Systems and FSMA regulations.

Familiarity with raw materials, production processes and quality control in an oil based environment, (vegetable oils, mineral oils and waxes).
