We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Company.
Job Purpose:
To provide field layout, surveying, and technical support on-site while also assisting with office-related project coordination and documentation.
Duties:
- Be physically present at the job site to manage and oversee daily construction activities
- Perform construction layout and staking using GPS, total station, and conventional survey equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
- Verify grades, elevations, and dimensions to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Conduct as-built surveys and maintain accurate field notes and records
- Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and inspectors to resolve field issues
- Ensure all work conforms to IDOT, CDOT, and County specifications and standards
- Assist project managers and estimators in gathering field data for estimates and progress tracking
- Support in-office duties including plan reviews, submittal preparation, RFIs, and project documentation
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
- Strong preference for prior surveying experience in construction environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and survey equipment (GPS, total station)
- Familiar with IDOT, CDOT, and County Specifications and Standards
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both in the field and in the office effectively
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Previous work experience with IDOT and CDOT preferred
