Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $36.00 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite

System One is currently seeking an Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Naperville, IL.

Engineer Responsibilities:

• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
• Create a safe work environment by putting safety first
• Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance
• Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
• Understand design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design
• Understand industry and Company design standards
• Support design standard and criteria development for the system
• Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations, estimating material for projects
• Transmit construction packages and supporting specifications.

Engineer Requirements:

• Introductory engineering knowledge
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor
• Basic discipline software knowledge
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
• 0-5 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with ABET Accreditation
• Preferred: Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
• Prior internship or co-op experience in an engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans - intermediate to advanced proficiency, MS Office - intermediate proficiency, Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
• Preferred: CAD/GIS - basic proficiency, Hydraulic analysis experience, Project Management.
