Server Assistant
Position Overview
The Server Assistant plays a vital role in delivering a seamless, polished dining experience. This position supports the service team by ensuring tables are maintained to the highest standards, service flows smoothly, and guests feel cared for throughout their visit.
Server Assistants are attentive, proactive, and detail-oriented, working closely with servers, captains, and management to uphold the restaurant’s standards of hospitality, efficiency, and professionalism.
This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in hospitality, learn fine dining service fundamentals, and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience SupportMaintain clean, organized, and properly set tables throughout service
Clear and reset tables promptly and discreetly between courses and seatings
Assist with water service, bread service, and other table-side needs
Respond to guest requests with urgency, warmth, and professionalism
Support servers and captains during service by anticipating needs and assisting proactively
Assist with food running and clearing, ensuring proper timing and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and dining areas
Help manage service flow and pacing under the direction of floor leadership
Complete all assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing sidework
Refill ice, polish glassware, restock china, silverware, linens, and service tools
Ensure adherence to sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards
Communicate clearly with the FOH team to support smooth service execution
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team
Comfort standing and walking for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Tables are always clean, organized, and guest-ready
Service feels smooth, unhurried, and intentional
Servers and captains are supported and able to focus on guest engagement
Guests feel cared for even without direct interaction
You are seen as reliable, proactive, and eager to grow within the team
