Front Desk/Doorman Associate / Concierge – Residential High-Rise (Chicago, IL)

We are currently hiring a Front Desk Associate to join our team at a residential high-rise in Chicago. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in maintaining a welcoming, secure, and professional environment for residents and guests.

The Door Staff is responsible for greeting residents, owners, vendors, and guests while ensuring a consistently high level of customer service. The ability to multitask, adapt to changing responsibilities, and maintain a positive attitude is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist residents, guests, owners, and vendors in a professional and friendly manner
• Monitor building access and support overall building security
• Keep detailed logs of daily activity during each shift
• Manage deliveries, packages, and visitor/vendor sign-in
• Open doors, assist with bags, hail taxis, and respond to general inquiries
• Handle front desk operations, including calls and resident requests
• Coordinate with management, maintenance, and receiving staff as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Self-starter with the ability to multitask and stay organized
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Prior concierge, hospitality, or front desk experience preferred

Reporting Structure:
The Door Staff reports directly to the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, and Lead Doorman.

Compensation & Schedule:

• If already a union member, starting pay will be at union scale
• If not currently in the union, starting pay is $16.60/hour (minimum wage)
• After 30 days, associates are eligible to join the union, with pay and benefits increasing to union scale
• Schedule: Full-time (32hours per week) - Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM; Monday and Tuesday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
