The Opportunity
This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Core Lab Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
As the Inventory Strategic Planner II , you'll drive, implement and support inventory planning activities along with optimization of the global supply chain strategies across the entire supply chain. Maintain target customer service levels and satisfaction and has Signature authority to requisition and/or commit company funds, in accordance with site and corporate financial policies. Ensure divisional inventory processes are in place to identify and resolve significant inventory issues throughout the supply chain. Responsible for the planning, procurement, on-time delivery, and inventory level of assigned spare parts and finished goods categories.
What You'll Work On
Maintain sufficient inventory to meet customer needs and inventory objectives for Core Diagnostics, as well as develop and implement new processes.
Continuously review and update planning reports and factors, to determine material requirements, lead time, standard order quantities, batch size and safety stocks to drive the divisional inventory strategy and achieve the division's financial goals.
Effectively communicate material requirements and needs, by providing forecasts and performance analysis when required.
Prepare forecasts / Latest Best Estimates (LBEs) for key products.
Identify purchase price variances and take the initiative to research alternative ways to optimize or minimize.
Support the annual Standard Setting and Plan processes.
Take a leadership role in the implementation of new systems and planning of new projects.
Actively participates in problem solving, goal setting and continuous improvement.
Act as a liaison between other departments to minimize impact on schedule changes in the product structures or internal quality issues.
Determine schedules that will optimize manufacturing.
Decision rights that impact up to $10MM of domestic inventory.
Influence Supply Chain network costs including plant SCOP, transportation, warehousing, and inventory holding.
Influence inventory obsolescence management, to ensure minimal material destruction costs.
Take leadership role within team to drive cash flow initiatives and service targets.
Creates and manages instrument, accessory, and spare parts shipment allocations. Provides “available to promise” information to each area of the world or country.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required. Bachelors Degree in Operations, Business, Finance or Technical disciplines strongly preferred.
5+ years combined experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, Quality, or Technical Support.
Preferred Qualifications
APICS certification strongly encouraged.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 - $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
