Primary Function
The Director of Schneider Power and Energy Management Solutions is responsible for the profitable sales growth of Schneider Power Products, connected solutions, and sustainability. This position leads a team of Sales Specialists providing direction and focus to their activities.
Essential Functions
Task
Sales Planning & Market Analysis
- Develops, implements, and communicates Schneider products marketing plans to support sales growth and brand messaging including programs such as EcoStruxure.
- Coordinates and communicates with our Solutions Center Director to develop and provide solutions to the end customer.
- Works with the Director of Procurement, Regional Sales leaders, and Branch Managers to maximize Schneider incentive programs.
- Promotes strong associate, customer, and vendor relationships.
- Understand and provides support for the Schneider service offering.
- Assists in the development of the Schneider content on our website as well as the Schneider A & C E-marketing initiative.
- Reviews branch inventories for optimization.
Sales Initiation
- Accompanies Outside Sales Associates to add technical expertise to the sale or presentation.
- Seeks new customers and opportunities.
- Executes sales efforts in a timely, ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company; includes the maintenance of a clean and uncluttered vehicle.
Project Specs, Quotations & Execution
- Works with Quotation Managers to increase hit rates for project business.
- Engineers design and build projects.
- Coordinates and assists with Schneider projects and provides guidance on special projects, including the review of prints and assembling material lists.
- Coordinates and assists with Square D projects and special quotations.
Services & Product
- Educates staff on Square D E-Way (electronic commerce) system in order to enhance system utilization.
- Provides product, E-commerce, and solutions training to associates.
- Conducts and arranges for appropriate associate and customer training on Square D products.
- Grows and develops the Square D SPJ Program, assuring that Echo associates are trained to self-sufficiency.
Communication & Team Orientation
- Responsible for the management and development of direct reports.
- Reports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to management.
- Clearly, timely and respectfully communicates with customers, management team, and manufacturing partners to ensure a professional experience.
- Develops an effective and productive working relationship with branch associates, sales associates, and managers.
Other Responsibilities
- Stimulates an interest in the customer for additional technology and general line products.
- Provides technical support when needed.
- Fulfills customer and branch needs for current literature and technical data.
- Attends product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to handle customer applications.
- Attends sales meetings and specified manufacturer’s schools when requested.
- Travels to jobsites, as needed and when required.
- Performs other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.
Necessary Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a closely related field; or an Associate’s degree in closely related field; or equivalent academic training from a technical school with 2 or more years of sales experience; or equivalent on-the-job experience as determined by Echo Electric.
- Possess a valid driver’s license & good driving history.
- Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.
- Strong customer service orientation to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to use a computer, operating software and wiring/device marking systems.
- Demonstrated motivation, willingness to learn and complete quality work.
- Ability to travel with overnight stays during the week.
Desirable Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience selling distribution, power, and motor control products.
- Ability to design and develop specifications for distribution and power equipment.
- Demonstrated presentation skills.
Physical Ability Requirements
- Ability to operate a vehicle.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, crouch and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone.
- Ability to bend, climb, push, and pull, including the ability to maneuver at heights and in tight or small places.
- Ability to safely negotiate walking through construction sites while carrying or otherwise transporting work-related materials.
- Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 50 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 50 lbs.
