Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location: Normal, Illinois (61761) – Illinois nursing jobs Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiac Cath / Special Procedures Unit Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel nurse contract Start Date: September 1, 2025 End Date: January 17, 2026 Contract Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM Shift Length: 10-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week On Call: Every 3rd weekend and 4–8 additional weekdays per month Estimated Weekly Salary: $2620–$2690 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Illinois or compact state (Registered Nurse) Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, cardiac care, or acute care nursing Associate Degree in Nursing or College Diploma (BSN preferred) BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and EMR skills Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary patients Develop, implement, and modify individualized patient care plans Administer medications, monitor lab results, and assess patient responses Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, manage pain, perform IV venipuncture, and administer blood products Document care accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) Delegate tasks and ensure quality clinical support Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and provide constructive feedback Participate in conflict management and foster a positive work environment Apply now to join our healthcare team in Normal, Illinois and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
