Cheesemonger
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with cheese selection by offering thoughtful recommendations and samples
- Cut, wrap, and weigh cheeses to order, ensuring accuracy and care
- Prepare charcuterie boards for retail and special events, following shop standards and custom requests
- Maintain product displays, rotate inventory, and uphold food safety and sanitation practices
- Receive and stock deliveries; track inventory and minimize waste
- Share product knowledge, including milk type, origin, aging, and flavor profiles
- Uphold excellent customer service, even during busy periods
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused work environment
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with cheese, deli, or food prep required ***
- Strong attention to detail, especially when cutting and plating
- Comfortable working with sharp knives and slicer, and standing for long periods
- A passion for cheese, food, and hospitality
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced retail setting
- Maintain strict standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- BASSET Certification (or willingness to obtain)
