If you’re energized by moving parts, precise paperwork, and clear communication, this role puts you at the center of it all. You’ll be the connective tissue between Sales, carriers, and our shipping floor—keeping orders accurate, timelines tight, and documentation flawless.

Your impact

• Own shipment documentation: create packing slips, generate BOLs, and assemble export packets.
• Be the last line of defense on paperwork accuracy with final inspections before anything ships.
• Coordinate export moves and maintain NAFTA documentation; issue certifications aligned to Sales orders.
• Field carrier calls, provide driving directions, and dispatch pickups when freight is ready.
• Schedule inbound freight from mills; match signed BOLs to Sales orders and finalize as needed.
• Validate freight charges using tables; execute UPS/FedEx processing through our systems.
• Stage daily loads, pair paperwork with product, and keep the shipping floor organized.
• Pitch in on truck loading/unloading; assist with receiving and documenting non‑conforming material.
• Operate within a metals environment: load/unload turnstiles for the 50” slitter and CTL; package “As Is” orders.
• Support housekeeping in Shipping/Receiving; manage scrap skids and deliver to the processor once a full truckload is accumulated.
• Assist the Invoicing Clerk and help onboard new hires with practical training.

What we’re looking for

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years relevant experience (or equivalent mix of education/experience).
• Clean driving record for operating the company truck.
• Comfort with tools/equipment: tape measure, micrometer, calipers, crane, forklift, bander, band cutters, side loader.
• Communication: read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures; write reports and correspondence.
• Math: work confidently with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; calculate rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
• Problem solving: handle variable situations and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Training: Fork Truck Training, Crane Training, Shipping Training, Safety training, Fire Extinguisher Training.

This role carries no supervisory responsibilities. Safety # 1 in every task.
