This iOS Engineer III role is part of the Package Shopping team which sits within our Technology division. Package Shopping owns the packages (flight + hotel + other) shopping flows and pricing logic that unlock higher-value, higher-margin bundled trips across our brands and B2B partners. As an iOS Engineer II, you will build and enhance native mobile experiences that make it easier for travelers to discover, compare, and book these bundled trips, directly improving package conversion and overall trip value.

In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain iOS application features and components that are reliable, performant, and aligned with product and customer needs.

• Implement clean, testable Swift code, including system design (LLD), API integration patterns, and data modeling to support scalable mobile experiences.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to decompose problems, define technical approaches, and deliver high-quality solutions across multiple product areas or domains.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in iOS applications, improving stability, performance, observability, and overall operational excellence.

• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including features powered by recommendations, personalization, or intelligent automation.

• Demonstrate familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, using them to enhance iOS user experiences where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

• Professional experience developing and shipping iOS applications using Swift, including ownership of features or services within a broader product.

• Hands-on experience designing and consuming APIs, implementing system design at the component/LLD level, and performing data modeling for mobile applications.

• Proven ability to own end-to-end quality for features, including writing unit/instrumentation tests, debugging, and supporting applications in production.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3+ years of experience as an iOS Engineer.

• Advanced proficiency in Swift Programming.

• Advanced knowledge of SwiftUI. Hands-on experience building intuitive and responsive user interfaces including state management and declarative UI design.

• Experience designing and implementing scalable iOS architectures (such as modular architectures or well-structured design patterns) that support multiple features and domains.

• Demonstrated success improving performance, reliability, and observability of iOS apps at scale, including optimizing network, memory, and UI responsiveness.

• Safely integrates and operates AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, such as personalization, ranking, or intelligent in-app experiences, with appropriate safeguards and monitoring.

• Applied experience using AI-driven tools or workflows in the iOS development lifecycle (for example, code generation assistance, test optimization, or analytics-driven iteration) to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, and familiarity with applying AI/ML concepts to enhance mobile product capabilities.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $136,000.00 to $190,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $217,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
