Senior Buyer, Direct Procurement

LaSalle Network is currently partnering with a growing consumer products company based in downtown Chicago looking for a driven Senior Buyer, Direct Procurement to support purchasing activities for direct materials critical to production. You’ll collaborate with Planning teams, Category Managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely execution of Purchase Orders (POs) while resolving order, delivery, and invoice issues.

This role plays a vital part in maintaining supply continuity for manufacturing operations through effective transactional procurement and process compliance.

Senior Buyer, Direct Procurement Responsibilities

• Create and manage POs for direct materials in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

• Ensure accuracy in pricing, lead times, and material specs per supplier agreements.

• Coordinate with Planning teams to prioritize urgent orders based on production needs.

• Track confirmations, deliveries, and escalate delays with suppliers.

• Support Goods Receipt (GR), Invoice Receipt (IR), and resolve PO/invoice discrepancies.

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to address payment issues.

• Maintain supplier data and assist with onboarding processes.

• Monitor procurement KPIs and contribute to process improvements and compliance.

Senior Buyer, Direct Procurement Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; Associate degree with experience accepted.

• 1–3 years in direct procurement

• Familiarity with ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Oracle, Coupa) is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
