Job Overview:

The Asphalt Plant Assistant Superintendent will assist the asphalt plant manager in leading production teams, promoting safety, and driving continuous improvements. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining budgets, planning activities, and ensuring quality control while contributing to the overall success of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the asphalt plant manager in leading production teams and contributing to business success.
• Promote and sustain a safe working environment by driving safety, environmental, and quality improvements.
• Supervise, orient, and train staff to improve performance and develop leadership skills.
• Maintain budgets and cost reduction initiatives as set by the asphalt plant manager.
• Plan day and night activities, including production, repairs, maintenance, loadout, and deliveries.
• Monitor outgoing materials and communicate quality control issues to the asphalt plant manager.
• Support maintenance orders, scheduling, and emergency repairs to ensure plant operations.
• Assist in developing and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership, training, and development to ensure a robust succession plan.
• Communicate with customers to support their operations and relay information to the asphalt plant manager.
• Participate in day-to-day activities to maintain plants and property management.
• Assist in winter work, including mix designs, planning, and office tasks.
  

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
• Willingness to learn budgeting and financial analysis skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in an industrial environment, engineering technology, production, or a related field.

Pay Range: $75K- $85K

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
