Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (Waukegan)

IEP Therapy
Waukegan, IL

26/27 School Year | $35-$40/hour | Full-Time | North Chicago, IL | State OTA License Required

About the Role:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with Point Quest Group, you’ll provide hands-on, supportive therapy services to students —helping them build the functional skills they need to succeed in the classroom and in daily life. Working under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you’ll implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student’s IEP or care plan, track progress, and adjust support strategies to meet evolving needs. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families while maintaining clear, compliant documentation. This role blends practical clinical skill with a genuine passion for helping students grow in confidence and independence.

Why Join Us:

Point Quest Group is committed to keeping support for staff, students, and schools at the center of everything we do. Through our longstanding partner, IEP Therapy's service model is led by dedicated directors and supported by clinical leaders who are focused on your success. Together, our industry-leading approach includes:

· Regular caseload check-ins and clinical consultation from in-house Directors who carry no caseloads

· Local office support with the resources of a national organization

· CEU, license, and tuition reimbursement

· Medical, dental, and vision insurance + 401(k) with company match

· Spread pay option, paid sick time, and life/short-term disability insurance

· Quarterly appreciation gifts and online lending library

What You'll Do:

• Implement individualized treatment plans for students ages 3 and up, following goals outlined in their IEPs or care plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist

• Provide direct, hands-on therapy to support students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional skill development

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support student goals, accommodations, and carryover of skills across environments

• Track and document student performance, progress, and response to interventions during therapy sessions

• Assist the Occupational Therapist with data collection, observations, and input for evaluations and progress reports

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in alignment with district and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For:

Must Have:

• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state where services are delivered, or eligibility to obtain such licensure

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• DOJ/FBI Live Scan background and TB clearance, as applicable by state

Preferred

• Experience in school or treatment settings working with students with learning or social-emotional challenges

• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation systems

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
