ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Harvey, Illinois (60426) – Chicago area nursing job
• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710 - $1750
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (occasionally 1:3)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required as needed to other hospital units
• Charting System: Epic

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to pass EKG strip test during orientation
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references (one from direct supervisor or nurse manager)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, and ventilated patients
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Participate in rapid response and Code 33 emergency teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
• Document all patient care using the Epic electronic health record system
