Project Manager, Order Management
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role at G&W Electric focusing on customer needs by communicating proactively and effectively with internal and external customers. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing specialized custom order projects assigned to them, up to and including escalations from G&W Electric Customer Service Reps
As a Project Manager, OM you will:
- Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers, serving point of contact for Sales, Operations, and other internal departments.
- Lead specialized complex custom order projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to established procedures and timelines. This includes risk mitigation on agreed upon contracts.
- Develop and adhere to a project schedule.
- Perform comprehensive review and cross functional collaboration to ensure project accuracy, quality customer outcome, and issue resolution (i.e. pricing resolution, design changes, terms & conditions, shipping method/terms, special notes & customer instructions, etc ).
- Consult with various departments within G&W Electric as appropriate to resolve technical and scheduling issues that arise during the life cycle of the order.
- Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors in orders and collaborate with relevant teams to rectify issues promptly.
- Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to streamline order processing workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Work closely with Sales team to support customer/order activity. Provide timely and effective communication to internal and external customers.
- Maintain customer files, including customer’s specific requirements as defined within the team’s protocol including but not limited to ISO or G&W Work Instruction or procedure.
- Check approval drawings for accuracy before they are transmitted to the customer.
- Liaise with Finance Department to ensure timely invoicing and payment where applicable. Request performance bonds through finance.
- Ensure all submittal documentation is developed and sent to the end user or sales representative in the agreed upon time.
- Order validation and manage design changes after the purchase order is received
- Utilize JDE and Salesforce for order status
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a B.S. Degree within an Engineering, Business discipline or related field
- Possesses technical aptitude required 5+ years of proven experience in a customer support role (ex: business sales, business development, project management or account management)
- Has a documented ability to resolve issues independently.
- Has a documented ability to manage multiple projects and once.
- Has clear and effective communication skills
- Possesses Microsoft Suite knowledge (outlook, word, beginner/intermediate level excel)
- Must have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Ideally you will also have:
- 5 Years of Project Management Experience (PMP preferred)
- Working knowledge of JDE and Salesforce software.
- 5 years of experience working in an operational role within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience within the power industry.
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $72,980 – 94,915 annually.

This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program
