Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: Contract (19 Weeks)

Shift:

• Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• On-call and weekend shifts required
• No option for exclusively 12-hour shifts

Short Description

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room (OR) in a Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong multi-specialty surgical experience.

Job Description

The RN will provide perioperative nursing care in the Adult Operating Room, supporting a variety of surgical specialties. This role requires expertise in surgical procedures, patient safety, and collaboration with surgical teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Assist in a variety of surgeries including general, orthopedic, trauma, neuro, and robotic procedures
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to surgical protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff
• Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative needs
• Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient care
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage
• Uphold patient safety and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
• Experience across multiple specialties including general, ortho, trauma, neuro, and robotics
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts including on-call and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a trauma center environment
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
• Scrub experience

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of trauma center experience is highly desired
• Experience with EPIC system is highly desired
• Scrub experience is highly desired
• Active New York State RN license is required
