Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver electrical engineering projects through all phases of design and construction. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader with deep consulting and construction expertise and a proven track record managing complex electrical systems within a design or consulting firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering efforts across all project phases, including client coordination, pre-design services, conceptual planning, detailed design, meetings, site visits, and overall project management.

• Review, supervise, and approve work prepared by junior electrical engineers prior to final issuance.

• Apply in-depth knowledge of consulting and construction practices, including plan/spec delivery, design-build projects, and construction manager-at-risk environments.

• Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard materials, and multi-discipline coordination issues.

• Prepare complete electrical construction documents, including single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, details, technical specifications, contract documents, cost estimates, and schedules.

• Support contract bidding, construction administration, and on-site project management as required.

Technical Focus Areas

• Low-, Medium-, and High-Voltage Power Distribution Systems

• Electrical equipment including substations, switchgear, and protective relaying

• Electrical system modeling and analysis (Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Studies)

• Electrical equipment maintenance and testing

• Lighting, emergency power, and backup power systems

• Grounding and lightning protection systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.

• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience within a design or consulting firm environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit ; experience with SKM and/or ETAP preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois strongly preferred.
