The Prevention Program Coordinator supports the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health’s statewide Gambling Disorder Prevention Services initiative by coordinating prevention education, outreach, training, technical assistance, and awareness activities throughout Illinois. The position focuses on youth, emerging adults, families, educators, and communities through evidence informed prevention strategies designed to reduce gambling-related harm before it develops into a gambling disorder. The Prevention Program Coordinator serves as a key connector between schools, community organizations, prevention professionals, youth leaders, and statewide partners. This position is responsible for implementing prevention campaigns, coordinating youth engagement activities including Photovoice projects, providing training and technical assistance, and supporting referral awareness efforts, and collecting data necessary to meet grant reporting requirements.
The coordinator collaborates closely with the COO and Communications Team, including Graphic Designer to develop and disseminate prevention messaging, educational resources, campaigns, and outreach materials that align with state and grant priorities.

· Conduct statewide outreach and build relationships with youth, emerging adults, schools, coalitions, community organizations, and other priority populations impacted by gambling expansion in Illinois.
· Coordinate and participate in community events, awareness campaigns, resources fairs, conferences, and prevetion initiatives.
· Prioritize outreach in efforts in rural, underserved, and high-exposure communities throughout Illinois.
· Support statewide implementation of gambling disorder prevention initiatives and campaign.
· Develop and deliver prevention-focused trainings and presentations related to gambling prevention.
· Assist Operation Snowball Chapters and CGTI Action Team in incorporating gambling prevention strategies into local action plans.
· Participate in required trainings, webinars, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
· Coordinate youth engagement activities that promote healthy decision-making and gambling prevention.
· Lead statewide implementation of youth-driven Photovoice projects and related awareness activities.
· Support youth leadership development through Operation Snowball, CGTI, Generation Lead, and other prevention initiatives.
· Work collaboratively with IABH’s Communications Team to develop and disseminate prevention materials, campaigns, social media content, website updates, newsletters, presentations, and educational resources.
· Assist with statewide awareness efforts including Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM), Gift Responsibly Campaign, other prevention initiatives.
· Support development of culturally responsive and accessible prevention messaging.
· Promote awareness of screening resource, referral pathways, and statewide support services.
· Collect, track, and maintain outreach trainings, campaign, and engagement data.
· Monitor program performance measure and grant deliverables.
· Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reporting requirements.
· Support continuous quality improvement efforts through data review and stakeholder feedback.
· Represent IABH at meetings, conferences, and public events.
· Support IABH prevention programs including Generation Lead, CGTI, and Operation Snowball.
· Assist with IABH planning and implementation of conferences, trainings, events, and special projects.
· Work collaboratively with staff to ensure effective communication and coordination across programs.
· Preform other duties as assigned.
· Keeps abreast of nationally recognized evidence-based practices and trends in youth culture as they relate to the field of prevention through the review of articles, research studies, attendance at conferences and trainings, and peer communication.
Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social service, psychology, public health or related field with relevant professional or volunteer experience. Bilingual candidates will be prioritized.
1. Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills.
2. Must possess computer (MS Office) skills and a valid Illinois driver’s license.
3. Must be an Illinois resident.
4. Must pass Illinois State Police background check.
5. Travel (up to 30%) required.
6. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
