ER RN Job Details – Harvey, IL

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1610 per week
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Emergency Department
• Location: Harvey, Illinois 60426 (Chicago area)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent ER RN experience in an urban Level I Trauma Center
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (required at time of application)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications (required)
• TNCC and CPI certifications (preferred)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Passing EKG strip test at orientation
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references, including one from a direct supervisor or nurse manager
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for trauma, medical, and behavioral emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services)
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
• Support teaching hospital initiatives and contribute to a learning environment
• Float to other units as required to meet patient care needs
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
