A leading food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to oversee key financial and accounting operations. This role will be responsible for establishing and implementing accounting policies, preparing consolidated financial statements, managing the external audit process, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The Corporate Accounting Manager will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, providing insights that drive operational efficiency and support long-term growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights supporting strategic initiatives and decision-making
• Prepare, revise, and maintain internal management reports and external financial reports for stakeholders, including banks, insurance providers, and other third parties
• Evaluate current accounting operations and recommend process improvements, leveraging technology where appropriate
• Lead the financial close process to ensure accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Serve as the primary resource for technical accounting matters and oversee the implementation of new accounting standards
• Maintain and enforce company accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure effective internal controls and drive improvements to strengthen the control environment
• Provide accounting guidance and direction to business unit controllers
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process
• Oversee accounting and finance system implementations, ensuring standardization across business units
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing results throughout the fiscal year
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support new business initiatives
• Hire, train, and retain a high-performing accounting team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred)
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting issues
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Power Query, or Power Pivot a plus
• Proven ability to lead audits, manage reporting processes, and oversee budgeting and forecasting
• Experience managing distributed teams and working across multiple locations
• Demonstrated track record of employee development and team leadership
• Food manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as D365 is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
