Occupational Therapist Job Details

• Location: Urbana, IL 61801 (Champaign County)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Rehab (Hospital-based)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 2, 2025 – November 29, 2025)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250–$2310 per week
• Employment Type: Travel Occupational Therapist (Locum Tenens)

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
• Active Illinois Occupational Therapy license (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year experience as an Occupational Therapist (preferred)
• Strong clinical communication and documentation skills
• Ability to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and rehab technicians

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care using evidence-based practice
• Adjust occupational therapy treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on therapy goals and rehabilitation techniques
• Ensure safe patient transfers and demonstrate proper body mechanics
• Utilize standardized outcome measures to assess functional performance
• Document evaluations, plans of care, and patient responses according to hospital and healthcare standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team throughout the rehabilitation process
• Supervise and provide feedback to support personnel in compliance with Illinois healthcare regulations
• Communicate changes in patient status and make recommendations for discharge planning and equipment needs
