Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Certified School Nurse position is available for the uping school year through May 2026, serving a K-12 student population with diverse health needs. The role is based in Elgin, IL, and offers a dynamic environment where professional nursing skills support students with disabilities, including those who are medically fragile. This contract position emphasizes collaboration, detailed record-keeping, and proactive health management within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical records and assessments, creating prehensive health history reports for annual and reevaluation meetings.
• Maintain and analyze cumulative health data to meet the individualized needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEPs, identifying health-related requirements for related services.
• Plan and provide direct nursing services, including first aid and emergency care for students and staff.
• Educate and support school staff regarding student health needs to foster a healthy and safe learning environment.
• Prepare and submit timely documentation, including Medicaid billing and other necessary paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license issued by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulations.
• Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement.
• Previous experience in pediatric, special needs, or school-based nursing preferred.
• Skilled in writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and medical service plans.
• Strong organizational, munication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Reliable transportation to travel within the district as required.
