Certified Nursing Assistant – Long Term Care
We are hiring a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 13-week Long Term Care assignment. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with LTC experience who are passionate about providing quality patient care in a supportive healthcare environment.
Job Details
- Specialty: Long Term Care (LTC)
- Location: Newark, New York
- Shift: Mid Shift – 5x8 Hours (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Support ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and mobility assistance
- Provide bathing, grooming, oral care, skin care, and hygiene support
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition changes
- Assist with feeding, fluid restrictions, and specimen collection
- Maintain infection control and PPE compliance
- Operate patient care equipment including Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, specialty beds, and transfer devices
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure quality patient care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Certified Nursing Assistant experience
- Active CNA certification required
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with patient transfers and safe patient handling
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Familiarity with long-term care workflows and patient support
