Chef
Wicker 64 is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to lead kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food preparation, consistency, and kitchen efficiency. The Chef is responsible for overseeing food preparation, managing back-of-house staff, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall success of the restaurant. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure efficient service during all shifts
Prepare and execute menu items according to restaurant standards
Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
Ensure kitchen stations are organized, stocked, and ready for service
Monitor food quality and address issues promptly
Team Leadership
Supervise and train back-of-house staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dish staff
Create and manage kitchen schedules
Delegate tasks and ensure team members follow kitchen procedures
Promote a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Food Preparation & Menu Support
Lead food prep and assist during service as needed
Maintain prep lists and ensure ingredients are properly prepared and stocked
Assist with menu development and seasonal updates
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO)
Inventory & Ordering
Monitor kitchen inventory and food costs
Assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy
Minimize food waste and maintain proper inventory levels
Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure compliance with all local health department regulations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Ensure staff follow proper food handling procedures
Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
Experience managing inventory and food costs
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, sharp equipment, and high-volume service periods.
