Director of Programs
Reports To: Executive Director

Location: Chicago, IL Organization Background: The Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR) mission is: Rooted in the spirituality of the Precious Blood, we restore human dignity through hospitality, hope, and healing. We work as agents of reconciliation to:
- Build relationships among youth and families impacted by violence, racism and lack of resources.
- Create safe spaces where people can experience radical hospitality, hope, and healing.
- Promote a restorative approach to healing and building community.
The Director of Program Services serves as a member of PBMR's Executive Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and organizational accountability for PBMR's ministry, healing, mentoring, restorative justice, educational, and family-support programming. Working in partnership with the Executive Director, Director of Mission Advancement, Controller, and Director of Community Violence Intervention, this position helps guide organizational strategy, develops program leaders, strengthens program quality and impact, and ensures that PBMR's services remain rooted in hospitality, hope, healing, accompaniment, and restorative justice.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Management
- Serve as a member of PBMR's Executive Leadership Team and contribute to organizational planning, decision-making, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to establish organizational priorities, goals, and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for responsible growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability across assigned program areas.
- Oversee the implementation, coordination, and continual improvement of all programs.
- Ensure programs operate in alignment with PBMR's mission, the values of Precious Blood Spirituality, restorative practices, organizational priorities, and best practices.
- Responsible for developing annual program goals, work plans, and performance metrics.
- Monitor program quality, participant outcomes, and service delivery.
- Supervise, support, and develop program leaders, staff, facilitators, and teaching artists.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development planning.
- Support staff wellness and promote trauma-informed workplace practices.
- Support community outreach and engagement efforts that strengthen relationships and expand access to PBMR programs and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, courts, social service agencies, and local stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, trainings, coalitions, and public events.
- Work with the data team to track program metrics and outcomes to ensure accountability and effectiveness.
- Prepare reports for funders, government agencies, and organizational leadership.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements, contracts, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate on strategic planning and organizational evaluation efforts.
- Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with leadership and finance staff.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
- Partner with Mission Advancement to support grant development, impact reporting, funder stewardship, and resource development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, public administration, education, psychology, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in restorative justice, community-based programming, violence prevention, youth development, trauma-informed care, racial equity or related human services work.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or program leadership experience supervising teams of 5-7+.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and developing staff, managers, or program leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining strong operational and organizational management skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing grants, contracts, budgets, and program reporting.
- Ability to build authentic relationships across diverse communities and systems.
- Proficiency with data tracking systems and Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

Salary - $85,000 -$90,000
