About the Role
Sylvan Learning is hiring a Center Director / General Manager to lead sales, customer service, and daily operations of our learning center. This is a sales-driven leadership role responsible for revenue growth, team management, and overall business performance.
You will own the full operation of the center, including sales performance, staff leadership, customer experience, and operational execution.

What You’ll Do
Sales & Customer Service
- Own the full customer lifecycle from inquiry through enrollment and retention
- Respond to inquiries with urgency
- Conduct consultations and recommend personalized learning programs
- Drive sales performance through follow-up, relationship building, and closing
- Maintain a strong customer service experience to retain students and families
Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day center operations and ensure smooth execution
- Track and manage KPIs including sales, retention, and staffing efficiency
- Implement actions to improve performance based on data and metrics
- Ensure adherence to Sylvan standards, policies, and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional center environment
Team Leadership & Development
- Hire and manage center staff
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
- Support instructional quality alongside the Director of Education / Lead Teacher
- Build a strong, accountable, and positive team culture
Marketing & Business Development
- Execute local marketing strategies to drive leads and enrollments
- Build relationships with schools, educators, and community organizations
- Conduct school outreach and participate in local events
- Support lead generation efforts through community and referral partnerships
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Management experience in sales, customer service, retail, or operations
- Experience managing teams and driving business performance
- Experience working with CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline
Skills
- Strong consultative sales and closing ability
- Customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage operations, people, and performance simultaneously
- Comfortable tracking KPIs, metrics, and financial performance
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- High sense of urgency and accountability
Requirements
- Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with sales goals and KPIs
- Ability to work evenings and weekends based on center needs
