We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst / Data Analyst with strong expertise in the Finance and Capital Markets domain. The candidate will be a critical bridge between business stakeholders, domain SMEs, and the data engineering team. This role requires deep experience in data engineering, data modernization, and modern data platforms, along with the ability to drive business discussions, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable data-driven solutions.

- 8 12 years of total experience in Business Analysis / Data Analysis roles.
- Minimum 5+ years in Finance and Capital Markets domain (trading, investment banking, asset management, risk & compliance).
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Modernization initiatives with modern cloud-based data platforms.

• Business Engagement & Stakeholder Management
• Act as a primary liaison between business stakeholders, customer domain SMEs, and technical teams.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and domain deep-dives with finance and capital markets teams.
• Translate complex business needs into functional requirements, data models, and process flows.
• Domain Expertise
• Leverage finance and capital markets domain knowledge to validate requirements, ensure business alignment, and identify gaps.
• Support use cases across trading, risk, compliance, asset management, regulatory reporting, and financial analytics.
• Data Analysis & Solution Design
• Analyze and profile large volumes of structured and unstructured financial data.
• Document business rules, KPIs, and reporting requirements for modern data platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines, medallion architectures, data lakes, and warehouses.
• Modern Data Platform & Modernization
• Work closely with engineering teams on cloud-based modernization initiatives (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).
• Assist in migration from legacy platforms to modern data platforms, ensuring business continuity and data integrity.
• Participate in solution validation, UAT, and ensure alignment with business outcomes.
• Governance & Quality
• Define data quality rules, validation checks, and contribute to data governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.

- Strong experience in Finance & Capital Markets (trading, investment banking, asset management, risk & compliance).
- Ability to engage confidently with customer domain SMEs.
- Strong background in data engineering concepts (data modeling, data pipelines, metadata management).
- Experience in data modernization projects on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, Redshift, etc.).
- Hands-on with SQL, Python (for data analysis), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Proven ability to drive business discussions, document requirements, and present solutions.
- Experience in large, complex transformation programs.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and executive presentation skills.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Certifications in Finance/Capital Markets (e.g., CFA, FRM) or Cloud/Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Prior consulting experience with financial services clients
