Cardboard Maintenance Associate

AKIRA is a Chicago-based Women's Fast Fashion Retailer with 30+ stores across the U.S. with a strong e-commerce presence. Due to rapid growth, we are looking to hire a maintenance associate to join our team. If you are a fast-paced, detail oriented, and collaborative individual who thrives on delivering results, this may be the position for you!

Job Type: Full-time

Job Location: Bolingbrook, IL

Salary: $16.00 an hour

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

In this role you will:

• Gather up plastic and cardboard boxes throughout the aisles of our Fulfillment Center throughout the day
• Sweeping of department to maintain cleanliness
• Emptying of garbage cans
• Break down cardboard boxes
• Use cardboard baler to create large bales of cardboard and store them
• Promote a culture of respect and an atmosphere of teamwork in order to foster a positive working environment
• Stand/walk 8 to 10 hours a day
• Move product, supplies and/or boxes repetitively; move and/or lift 50 lbs
• Adhere to company safety guidelines to prevent personal injury and product and facility damage

Skills:

• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Basic math skills
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred
• English language skills (written and verbal) preferred

At AKIRA, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The starting pay for this position is $33,280 annually, and may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
