Qualifications

  • MSW Degree, or a Masters Degree in a related field
  • Experience in working with children, adolescents and families
  • Experience in individual, family, and group therapy
  • Skills in interagency relations
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Maintain up to date case file documentation per agency requirements
  • Interest and background to work with victims and perpetrators of sexual and physical abuse
  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences of individuals and families in groups outside ones own

Summary: Provides treatment services to a caseload of clients

I. Duties Case Management

  • Completes all mental health assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries for all clients as required by each contract.
  • Schedules, conducts all necessary staffing- including but not limited to intakes, pre-court, monthly progress, emergency, inter-agency, and termination.
  • Maintains appropriate case records, written reports, and ensures all documentation has met deadlines on a timely basis.
  • Maintains clients confidentiality in accordance to Illinois Law and YSBIV policies and procedures.
  • Develops therapeutic strategy with the Treatment Coordinator.
  • Conducts individual, group, and family therapy where applicable, as designated by the treatment plan.
  • Provides in-home support and assistance to families when applicable.
  • Provide linkage with individuals and families to other community resources when appropriate.
  • Advocate for the client/their families regarding their right to appropriate treatment, and their right to dignity.


II. Management/Support Duties

  • Works with Treatment Coordinator and Director of Development in area of program development, public relations, speaking to professional groups and inter-agency teams and trainings.
  • Researches and keeps current on field developments, including: contributing to the field through writing articles, developing workshops, speaking to professional groups, and developing accountability and growth within the program and agency.
  • Responsible for program and statistical reports, as directed by the Treatment Coordinator.
  • Other duties as designated by the contract we serve.

III.Core Competencies

  • Trauma Informed treatment staff adheres to practices that are trauma informed and recognize the role that trauma plays in mental illness. Treatment staff are trained to recognize signs of trauma. Treatment staff responses are derived from principles of trauma informed care, and they are qualified to guide family, caregivers, and other support sources in developing a trauma informed system of care in the clients natural settings.
  • Person Centered Treatment staff are committed to person-centered recovery. They will educate and assist clients in identifying their strengths and enhancing resilience, along with promoting personal choice and self-help measures. Treatment staff will work to help clients feel empowered to have their own voice and advocate for themselves.
  • Strength Based Treatment staff focus on helping clients identify, build upon, and utilize their strengths empowering them to help meet their own needs.
  • Create a Safe and Healthy Environment Treatment staff will provide therapeutic services in a manner and in an environment that promotes a sense of both physical and psychological safety. Paramount to the program is the protection of children from harm. Any identified abuse/neglect will be reported.
  • Collaboration Treatment staff will work with clients to help them identify how to develop a network of peers, family, and other support sources.
  • Cultural Responsiveness and Disability Awareness Treatment services are provided to clients regardless of race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, past or current criminal record, and inability to pay.

IV. Program Support and Improvement

  • Actively participates in YSBIVs continuous Quality Improvement program.
