Senior Civil Engineer

A well-respected civil engineering firm in the Chicago suburbs is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and permitting for site development and roadway projects

• Design site grading, drainage, stormwater detention, utilities, flood studies, and roadway improvements

• Prepare and oversee construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates

• Manage and mentor engineering staff; balance workloads and meet project deadlines

• Review and direct work produced by design engineers and CAD technicians

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies

• Serve as liaison with municipal clients throughout project lifecycle

• Provide project coordination and construction administration support

• Participate in meetings and communicate project progress effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

• Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.) license

• 10+ years of civil engineering experience

• Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams preferred

• Experience working with municipal clients

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions
