The Position
Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst role located in the Arlington Heights, IL market. The successful Credit Analyst candidate will be responsible for processing daily credit transactions per the credit policy and procedures, maintaining records and files on all credit transactions, including correspondence and documents.
This position comes with a generous salary of up to $80K and full benefits package.
Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and analyzing financial statements including calculating performance ratios and financial covenants.
- Evaluating overall credit risk of small business applicants and their owners to determine repayment ability of C&I loans and overall business performance via ratio analysis and comparative trends.
- Analyzing financial data from borrowers for new, renewal, and existing business loans, including financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, financial projections, business plans, and information from credit bureaus and other financial institutions.
- Reviewing loan requests for SBA 7(a) eligible structure and eligible use of proceeds
- Communicating with lending team and directly with borrowers to resolve issues and provide a comprehensive review of loan requests.
- Preparing written presentations for credit requests fully assessing and exhibiting the request’s risk profile.
- Ensuring compliance with established bank policies and procedures.

You also bring the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in finance or accounting.
- Five or more years of Credit Analyst experience in managing commercial loan accounts, preferably SBA loans.
- SBA 7(a) credit analysis experience is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of financial analysis and accounting theory, and the ability to write clearly, logically, and analytically.
- Strong knowledge of loan agreements, assumptions, accounting, loan structuring, and collateral procedures.
- Knowledge of banking industry practices relative to bank loan operations with respect to loan products and services.
- High level of analytical ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain the confidentiality of information, as appropriate.
- Practical working knowledge of financial statement analysis.
- Solid Computer literacy skills (Word, Excel) with accurate data entry skills and the ability to master specific software programs used to spread financial information.
- A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and effective judgment skills.
