Description
ActioNet is seeking a Network Engineer JR to join our team in Multiple CONUS sites across ME (Bangor), MI (Battle Creek), TN (Chattanooga), NH (Portsmouth), Vienna(Virginia), WI (Madison, Milwaukee), Illinois (Chicago) and OH ( Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Springfield)
Responsibilities
- Takes direction and perform tasks in support of Journeyman and Senior Network Engineers.
- Assists with developing designs, configurations, and implementations of data networks based on customers' performance and specifications.
- Conducts site surveys and network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure.
- Supports preliminary and final SPRIP development. Supports systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria. Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.
- Has working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP). Supports RMF artifacts such as topology/data flow diagrams, hardware/software lists, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services, and POA&Ms.
- Supports design and implementation of secure networks, systems, and application architectures. Supports network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration.
- Supports LOM to capture all major components and installation materials to ensure successful deployment of systems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
- Assists the O&M team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems.
- Supports senior roles in gathering and analyzing system requirements to design and implement network solutions that are secure and scalable.
- Possesses and applies knowledge on multiple complex work assignments.
- Supports local Communication Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cutover new deployments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Degree: Technical BA/BS degree;
- Experience: 5 years with bachelor’s degree;
- Commensurate: High School diploma or associate degree plus a minimum of 7 years performing as a Network Engineer on large, complex programs;
- Specific Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio); demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers;
- Certification(s): CCNA or equivalent; CompTIA Security+;
- Clearance: Secret
