Junior developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior C Developer to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to kickstart their career in software development, working on real-world projects and learning from experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using the C programming language.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions.

• Debug and troubleshoot software issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, product management, and other developers.

• Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, version control, and testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Solid understanding of C/C++, Java and Python programming fundamentals.

• Familiarity with data structures, SQL, algorithms, and basic software design principles.

• Experience with debugging tools (e.g., gdb) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Basic knowledge of operating systems and memory management.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or academic project experience involving C or systems programming.

• Exposure to Linux/Unix environments and Azure Cloud.

• Familiarity with Makefiles and development pipelines in Azure DevOps.

• Ability to write unit and component tests to validate code.

• Understanding of networking protocols and techniques such as UDP, TCP, SOAP, MQ, and RPC.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $50,500 - $93,800.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
