Senior Insights Director

The Insights team at 1000heads is evolving into a next-generation intelligence function that blends data science, AI-driven analytics, and cultural insight to decode what matters most to audiences and brands.

We are seeking a Senior Insights Director to lead this transformation. This is a role for someone who not only delivers best-in-class insights today, but actively shapes the future of how insights are generated, scaled, and applied across the agency and for our clients.

This role goes beyond traditional analytics. You will be responsible for embedding AI, automation, and advanced methodologies into our workflows, unlocking faster, deeper, and more predictive insights. From machine learning–enhanced social listening to AI-assisted storytelling and foresight modeling, you will define what modern insights look like at 1000heads.

You will partner across Strategy, Creative, and Technology to ensure insights are not just reactive, but predictive, generative, and central to innovation. This is a leadership role for someone with a proven track record of building and scaling forward-looking insights capabilities within an agency or consultancy environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Vision

• Define and lead the future vision of Insights at 1000heads, with a strong emphasis on AI, automation, and innovation
• Act as a thought leader internally and externally on AI-driven insights, data innovation, and emerging methodologies
• Build a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and continuous evolution within the Insights team

AI & Innovation

• Identify, implement, and scale AI-powered tools and methodologies such as NLP, machine learning, predictive analytics, and generative AI
• Develop automated and scalable insights frameworks that reduce manual effort and increase speed to insight
• Lead the integration of AI into social listening, audience segmentation, trend forecasting, and reporting
• Partner with Strategy and Technology teams to prototype and deploy new capabilities
• Stay ahead of industry advancements and translate them into practical, client-ready solutions

Insights & Strategy

• Elevate the role of insights from reporting to strategic foresight and decision-making
• Design and implement advanced measurement frameworks that connect social, digital, and business impact
• Deliver compelling, story-driven outputs powered by both human and AI-augmented analysis
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives that inspire creative and strategic direction

Team Leadership

• Management and mentorship of the Insights team and distribution of workload
• Build and implement workflows and processes within the team
• Monitor work allocation and mode of working; mentoring and supporting the team members
• Complete performance reviews and create clear roles and goals for team members
• Devise, implement and manage training for the Insights Team and wider agency
• Promote positivity and a motivated, entrepreneurial working culture

Client & Commercial Impact

• Act as a senior client partner on innovation in insights and measurement
• Lead pitches and proposals with a differentiated, future-forward insights offering
• Develop new products and services that position 1000heads as a leader in AI-powered insights
• Represent the agency at industry events, contributing to thought leadership and brand visibility

Requirements

• This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in office required. You must reside in one of our US office locations: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Miami
• 10+ years of experience in insights, analytics, or strategy, preferably within an agency or consultancy
• Proven track record of building or transforming insights capabilities, especially incorporating AI or advanced analytics
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning applications in marketing and insights, including NLP, predictive modeling, and generative AI
• Experience with data tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to translate emerging technologies into real business and client impact
• Expertise in social media platforms (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X), web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Have an understanding of social media and its impact on brand
• Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to connect data, culture, and strategy
• Experience leading and developing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
• Strong commercial acumen and experience contributing to new business growth

SALARY RANGE

$150,000 - $170,000 per year
