Position Overview
As a Clinical Social Worker with the Illinois Department of Corrections, you serve those who need the help most. You will treat challenging, complex cases with a variety of diagnoses. You will join a dedicated team of multidisciplinary professionals who are focused on providing excellent care to individuals in our custody. Essential Functions
- Conducts intensive, structured on-site client and treatment plant clinical reviews at the facility.
- Participates in monthly program staff meetings, facility staff meetings and mental health team meetings.
- Serves as Crisis Team leader.
- Collaborates with clinical staff to identify available facility operational and community resources that present treatment and discharge barriers for individuals receiving care and evaluates the utilization of these resources.
- Assists the facility administrative staff with formulation of facility program design/expansion recommendations, with the most effective and efficient utilization of program resources.
- Signs certificates of admission for involuntary and court-ordered admissions.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a master's degree in social work from a recognized school of social work supplemented by three (3) years of supervised post master's clinical social work practice and possession of a clinical social worker's license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience providing clinical supervision in an adult correctional center.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in providing clinical supervision to non-clinically licensed professionals.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience conducting and participating in quality assurance processes.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
- Prefers at least five (5) years of supervised post master's clinical social work practice.
- Prefers knowledge of relevant clinical accreditation standards [Mental Health focused].
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires the ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
