Church office manager
Job summary: The Office Manager will be generally responsible for the coordination and operation of all office functions of the church and working with church members and staff.

This is a full-time position requiring in person presence from 9-4:30PM most days. The position starts at a $45,000 annual salary plus extensive benefits – including health, dental, a paid retirement contribution to your retirement Plan (403b), and generous PTO. Preferred start date October 6th. We will interview on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Primary Areas of Focus
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Administration – Primary point of contact for all visitors and phone calls, maintain effective and efficient databases, recordkeeping, maintaining membership information, and attendance. Maintain church calendar coordinating schedules with staff. Submit Council Reports and organize and publish Annual Congregational Report. Approve invoices and check requests; maintain lists of signers for financial institutions; support the work of the Finance Committee and maintain HR records.
· Communication and Publications – Maintain and update the church website, including activity calendars, events and publicity materials. Facilitate communications and publicity using a variety of platforms including social media. Create and coordinate weekly and special email blasts. Design slides and posts. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Google Workspace. Ability to use graphics design platforms (Canva).
· Facility Management – Coordinate and schedule building use for church activities, coordination and supervision of building and ground maintenance and repair, manage space usage, work closely with property committee to identify needed future repairs including solicitation of contractor bids, work with staff and volunteers on setting up and organizing space. Act as primary contact person for facility needs (must be within a reasonable commuting range). Maintain database of property records and projects. Directly supervises custodian and volunteers, coordinate financial matters (payroll, 1099 issuance, background checks).
Other Responsibilities
- Team Work - Attend staff meetings and occasional staff retreats. Work collaboratively as a member of the church staff. Take on new projects and tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor
- Technology - Implement/Support website maintenance and updates to social media. Demonstrate strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with digital marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, and Canva. Experience with Church Administrative databases are a plus
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Associate Degree preferred
· Relevant work experience preferred
· Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Skill in office procedures, use of technology
· Excellent communication skills, tact, and empathy
· Ability to operate with highly confidential information
· Ability to uphold the teaching and practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a Reconciling in Christ congregation
Working Conditions
Accountability and Supervision:
The Office Manager will be accountable to the congregation and its mission under the supervision and direction of the Senior Pastor for all duties as outlined above as well as other duties assigned during the duration of the employment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the Office Manager must be able to transport materials and equipment (up to 30 pounds) to and from various locations. The Office Manager is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, use hands in repetitive motion tasks, handle objects, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Physical Environment:
The Office Manager will work in an individual office with a door, and the space is wheelchair accessible.
Working Conditions:
The Office Manager is required to be physically present in the office in order to complete office tasks and be available to work outside of regular business hours as required. The Office Manager will work in an office with a desk that is attached to the Office of the Senior Pastor; it is frequently visited by other members and staff. The Office Manager must be able to work cooperatively with other members of the staff and volunteers.

Redeemer currently has 400 members, is housed in a two level building with a beautiful sanctuary in the center. It is a vibrant congregation with a number of programs and ministries.
Our Senior Pastor, Katie Hines-Shah, has been called to Redeemer for fourteen years. Redeemer Staff also includes an Associate Pastor, the Director of Music, and part-time Custodian. Together we have crafted a purpose of “United in Christ, we share God’s love in an ever-changing world,” where the Office Manager will share a central role in working with the Senior Pastor and congregation to smoothly manage central operations, provide assistance to key staff, and communicate with its members.
