AECOM is seeking a Entry Level Transportation Engineer to be based in Chicago, IL .
This position is expected to begin June 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Follows internal quality control processes.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineering + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain EIT (FE) registration within 6 months is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Civil Engineering design is preferred.
- Experience w/ multiple elements of highway design, including but not limited to the following are desirable:
- Highway design (alignments/geometry, roadside design, pavement, traffic control, etc.),
- Railroad and track design
- Plan and contract document preparation
- Drainage design, stormwater management and permitting
- Utilities
- Familiarity w/ Microstation is desirable. Experience w/Geopak a plus.
- The candidate will need to effectively communicate (written & oral) with peers and understand engineering requirements.
- This position will require an individual that is willing to perform a variety of tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $63,284-$87,015/annually (exempt).
