Salary Information Salary will be commensurate with experience Department Summary The Division of Academic Innovation (DAI) leads the HSC efforts in online learning, designing traditional face to face courses, educational media creation, faculty and staff development in education and technology, and continuing education credit for clinicians participating in our activities. Our division is comprised of three teams: the Department of Educational Development, the Department of Educational Media, and the Department of Continuing Education & Assessment. DAI leads HSC Learning Plus, the university's hub for microcredentials, short courses, and accredited continuing education experiences offered to the public, our community, and our local partners. Position Overview The Associate Director of Academic Communications (Marketing & Communications) is the key advisor to the Executive Director of the Division of Academic Innovation for all areas of strategic communications, digital strategy, and marketing for HSC Learning Plus (with annual draw of approximately 50,000 learners enrolled in our programs) and our internal programs. This person is responsible for all communications and marketing initiatives supporting these programs and providing all communication and marketing support to the Division as a whole.   • Knowledge of strategic communications, marketing and branding practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows
  • Strong business acumen and excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing collateral design Experience in digital media
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with marketing and communications roles in higher education, nonprofit organizations, health organizations, or education-related industries.

  • Serve as the senior communications strategy officer for the Division of Academic Innovation

  • Develop and implement robust, integrated, strategic communication plans to achieve objectives and goals
o
  • Bring together all facets of strategic messaging, media relations, print and online communications, issues and crisis management, and messaging with appropriate department(s)

  • Coordinate and maintain an integrated social media program based on identified goals and objectives
o
  • Manage internal messaging for faculty, staff, and students with regard to Division of Academic Innovation internal programs
o
  • Develop a strong network of contacts among staff, faculty, and students to generate leads on unique and compelling stories
o
  • Manage communications regarding projects and special events for the Division of Academic Innovation, coordinating with multiple departments and external agencies if needed
o
  • Develop communications and marketing materials to support Division of Academic Innovation partnerships with external clients, organizations, and partners
o
  • Develop compelling enrollment page materials for HSC Learning Plus courses and modules
o
  • Report key analytics to demonstrate outcomes of combined communication and marketing efforts
